The Teatime app is a social networking platform designed for sharing text screenshots and fostering discussions about text messages. Initially released in early September 2024, the app remains in its Beta phase as of February 2025. The team is actively testing it with users to evaluate potential features and updates for future versions.

Get it on the App Store or on the Google Play Store.

What is Teatime primarily used for?

Users of the Teatime app primarily use Teatime to get advice on a situation that is happening over text message, to validate their feelings towards a conversation, and/or to share in the entertainment of real text conversations.

Here are some examples of times people use Teatime:

  • Tough breakups

  • Arguments that happen over text

  • Weird text exchanges

  • Confusing text exchanges

  • Funny or shocking conversations

  • Uncertainty about how to read into a conversation

What features does the Teatime app have?

Remove sensitive information

All texts that are uploaded through Teatime are screened by our AI, which removes all sensitive data from those text messages, including names, phone numbers, addresses, etc. Once the messages are screened, they are put into the purple standardized Teatime post format.

Teatime’s post format also includes a title, description, polling functionality and the ability to create a unique nickname for the other person who you were texting with.

Hide phone contacts from seeing posts

When you create a new post to Teatime, you’ll have the ability to remove select phone contacts or all phone contacts from seeing that post. All Teatime users are required to input their phone numbers when they first sign up for this reason. This allows us to keep the text messages you don’t want to share with the wrong people private.

AI-generated titles, nicknames, and descriptions

Another benefit of Teatime’s built-in AI is that it also can generate your titles, nicknames, and descriptions for you. Titles, nicknames and descriptions are meant to provide other users reading your post with additional context that helps them engage with the post.

To use AI in your post, after you upload a screenshot of your texts, in the “Title, Description, and Nicknames” sections, you will notice a lightning bolt. Click on the lightening bolt to let AI fill in the information for you. Alternatively, you can also write the Titles, Descriptions, and Nicknames yourself.

Polls, open questions, and additional information

Teatime lets you choose how you engage with your audience. What’s your reason for posting? Do you want to ask the audience how they feel about the conversation? Do you want to propose a text response? There’s a lot of ways you can use the polling feature. Here are some examples:

How does the Teatime app work?

Teatime works similarly to other social media platforms, offering a feed of content you can view, engage with, and contribute to.

Viewing Conversations on Teatime

Once you're logged into Teatime and have an account, you'll have access to the main feed. The feed consists of text conversations uploaded by other users, complete with AI-generated or user-written titles, descriptions, and nicknames for added context.

To interact with posts, you can:

  • Vote in Polls – Share your take on the situation by voting in polls attached to posts.

  • Comment & Give Advice – Offer your thoughts, reactions, or advice in the comments.

Uploading a Text Conversation

If you want to share a text exchange, here's how it works:

  1. Upload a Screenshot – Select a text message screenshot from your device.

  2. AI Redacts Personal Information – Our AI automatically removes sensitive details like names, phone numbers, and addresses.

  3. Customize the Post – Add a title, nickname for the other texter, and a description. You can also let AI generate these for you.

  4. Choose Privacy Settings – Decide if you want to hide the post from specific phone contacts.

  5. Add Engagement Features – Enable a poll, an open-ended question, or additional context to encourage feedback.

  6. Post & Interact – Once published, your post will appear in the feed, where other users can engage with it.

Engaging with the Teatime Community

Teatime is built for conversation—whether that’s getting validation, advice, or just sharing the ridiculousness of modern texting culture. Users can follow each other, engage with trending posts, and explore new conversations based on categories like breakups, awkward texts, and more.

Want to try it out? Download Teatime on the App Store or on the Google Play Store and start sharing your texts today.
